Burley Travoy Bike Trailer - Stacking the boxes high

With a Burley Travoy bicycle trailer you can really pack on the boxes. It's a super easy way to get from place to place when hauling cargo and nothing beats a Travoy for convenient city hauling. I love to snap one onto by Brompton folding bicycle when taking boxes back from the shop. Also, it's a fun way to keep human powered even when you've got big and awkward loads to carry.

This trip I took a bunch of future Christmas presents home with my Burley Travoy - the fun part being that it was piled 6 feet high with boxes of all shape and size. Lucky for me - and the boxes - this bicycle trailer is built to take a beating and keep going. The Travoy trailer really held up well despite the adverse conditions.

The KickPed kick scooter seems to appeal to everyone

We were a bit surprised at the quick pickup in sales of KickPed kick scooters almost right out of the gate. It took a few months to catch on but now our sales of these kick scooters have outstripped every other in the shop. It seems there is something about the KickPed that really get's people excitied, but what?

We think the minimal design and reliable construction have a lot to do with it but one thing we know for sure is that 90% of people who come into the shop to ride other kick scooters and then the KickPed find the comfort of the KickPed kick scooter so superior that they take it right on the spot. That's the beauty of the KickPed kick scooter's superior design.

Fenders keep your Brompton bike from being a clothes rack

I got soaked on my Brompton bike today! My morning commute left me with a whole wardrobe of wet clothes. It ended up looking more like a clothes rack than a folding bicycle! It's important to consider whether riding in the rain will factor into your folding bicycle purchase.

With a Brompton folding bicycle you have the option of adding fenders to the bike when ordering. I would recommend this to 99% of our customers with the only exception being those who will seldom get on the seat and take hold of the handlebars. Think about puddles! No one wants a wet butt. :) So, when you build a custom Brompton bike be sure to add fenders - or not (your choice!).

Kick scooters make great gift ideas!

What makes a kick scooter a great gift idea? Well, the best thing about them is how you can keep riding an adult kick scooter day after day, year after year, long after battery powered and plastic gifts have seen their last days. They are well made, robust, and provide a bit of daily enjoyment that really can spice up your day to day life.

40 Brompton folding bicycles grow our inventory of stock bikes!

With one of the largest Brompton folding bicycle inventories outside of the Brompton factory itself, NYCeWheels is probably one of the few folding bike shops that receives regular orders for 40 and 60 bikes at a time. We just got one such delivery and Izzy and I unloaded about 44 boxes fresh from the Brompton bike factory onto our side walk!

It's cool to think that there are so many people out there who love these folding bicycles and that soon each of these Brompton bikes will find a happy home where they'll be fawned over and loved and perhaps - if their rider really starts using them a lot - it could change their life for the better! If you've been searching for the perfect Brompton folding bicycle this is the time to ramp up your search. The addition of 40 new Brompton bikes to our already large stock means you can get your Brompton without the wait! Just in time for Chirstmas...

We've got a new video! Stromer electric bike review...

The Stromer electric bike has fantastic design and engineering coupled with great features like a 600 watt motor and removable Lithium battery. It is a very fast ride, taking you up to 20 miles per hour (or even a bit more) with pedaling. Front suspension is great for bumps and the Schwalbe tires really keep punctures away.

We just finished a video review of the Stromer electric bike and posted it to YouTube. Have you seen it yet? Definitely check out our Stromer bike video review when you get a chance! It gives you an up close look at each of the features as if you were out on a bike ride with it, very detailed. Thanks!

Will's Brompton Folding Bike Review

I just started at NYCeWheels - where I've encountered all kinds of folding bicycles - but I've worked in bike shops for a few years now, and I've been riding bikes as long as I can remember. My sport of choice is freestyle BMX i.e. I do stunts on 20" bikes, in all different terrains (dirt/street/skate park). In addition, I have worked as a bike messenger in Manhattan in all four seasons, riding 700c single speed road bikes. I had never ridden a folding bike before this week, and I had a lot of concerns about how they would perform.

My Brompton folding bike review details this first experience on the Cadillac of folding bicycles. It was a great ride and I even got to try out some of my BMX tricks on the hand built English frame.

Turbo Bob is testing the Stromer

Turbo Bob's take on the Stromer electric bike

.......even though these are on the menu at NYCeWheels, I rode one here on the west coast. All the hype that has been going around made my expectations high. After the first block, I could see that no one was just blowing hot air about this bike. Very nicely done, this E-bike delivers the goods.....
