I didn’t start to feel tired until I reached the Queensboro Bridge. At that point, I remembered the stairs on the Triboro Bridge, and decided to leave the designated route and ride back into Manhattan over the Queensboro Bridge. I have been riding over that bridge for 30 years. When I started, I was the only one. Then I began to see people with jobs on the other side biking or walking to work. Now it is crowded with all kinds of travelers, and it is fun to see all the different people using this marvelous and ancient piece of cycling infrastructure.
After riding across 61st Street to the Park, I pedaled up to 110th Street inside the Park for the finish and celebration, then returned to Connecticut the way I came, on Metro North from 125th Street.
